Separating together
Helping couples resolve separation together, without unnecessary conflict.
Family law professionals are increasingly looking for new methods to support separating couples in a way that reduces conflict. At Burley Geach we can offer a legal support structure where one lawyer works with both parties, supporting them in deciding how to address their finances, and arrangements for their children.
The new way is led by you both as a couple. It is about separating together.
What is separating together?
This method enables you both to work jointly with one solicitor in finding the solution that is right for you and your family. Your solicitor will work for both of you and you will get the same legal advice, together.
The objective is to settle matters by agreement, together, helped by a specialist legal adviser who will also prepare the appropriate legally binding documentation. You will not usually have to go to court.
Whilst separating together is not suitable for all separating couples, if you want to work together amicably and are committed to finding a workable and fair outcome for you both, or for you as a family, you have a good footing for separating together.
Whatever your circumstances, we can help you. If it is not possible for you to separate together, we will work with you, and others as may be appropriate, to find the best way forward. There is every chance that you will still be able to settle matters by agreement.
If you think separating together could be the right solution for you and want to find out more please get in touch.
