Our History

1901

Firm founded

The first Burley Geach office was opened in Lavant Street, Petersfield by Percy Burley.

Introducing Burley to Geach

Robert Geach joined the practice at the end of the First World War, creating the firm name of Burley & Geach.

1918
1920

New premises

Burley Geach Petersfield relocated to its current location on Swan Street.

New offices

Percy Burley’s son, Leslie, joined and the Haslemere office was opened on a part-time basis on West Street.

1930
1945

Full time presence

The Haslemere office opened full time and was led by Brian Hunter.

Another Burley

Percy Burley’s grandson, Richard, joined the firm dealing with farming clients and developed a new area for the practice, tax law.

1957
1983

Expansion

A third office was opened in Liphook by Roger Greenwood.

Expand and merge

The Grayshott office opened whilst acquiring Macpherson & Lawson, and the practice traded as Macphersons Burley & Geach until 2008.

1985
2006

Another merge

Burley Geach Liphook acquired A J Bavin, which strengthened their presence in the town.

LLP

The firm became a Limited Liability Partnership and adopted the name Burley Geach Solicitors LLP.
