Guideline Fees for Wills and Codicils

The current rate of VAT (payable where indicated) is 20%.

1 Simple Will where:
  • All assets are given to one group of people, e.g. to adults
  • No minor beneficiaries
  • No trusts (a trust could be a life interest in a house for a surviving spouse)

Please Note

  • Whilst we make every reasonable effort for our offices to be as accessible as possible, we are always happy to visit clients at home if there are accessibility issues. Please notify us if this is required when booking your appointment.
  • Wills involving complex tax planning or drafting, e.g. Business or Agricultural Property Relief, Domicile issues or the European Succession Regulation, will be charged at an appropriate hourly rate advised to you.
  • If Wills are required urgently (i.e. within 5 working days) our time spent will be charged at an appropriate hourly rate advised to you.
  • If you require documents that are significantly different to those drafted, or enter into protracted correspondence about the provisions of the Wills, the additional work will be charged at an appropriate hourly rate advised to you.
  • Where your spouse, civil partner or partner makes a “mirror image” Will at the same time as you, the second Will is charged at a reduced price. If the documents are significantly different, a full rate will be charged.
